Thanksgiving and Thanks

So this years Thanksgiving was AWESOME! The best part was having my grandma Maples here at the beach with us. Thanksgiving started out with our traditional Turkey Bowl that Geoff plays in. Jessica, Emilee and my self go and watch. We also enjoy Krispy Kreme donuts while watching the men play football. After the game we came home and got ready for the day. I went to mom's and helped get stuff ready. It was the traditional meal. Turkey, potatoes both sweet and mashed with turkey gravy, rolls, corn, dressing and the fixings. We also had chocolate pie, pumpkin pie and pecan pie along with better than 'anything' cake. It was yumm-o!
After dinner we took naps and Jessica gave me a massage. It was awesome! We also went and saw a movie, Four Christmas's with Reese and Vince in it! It was really funny but would not suggest taking children with you. It will ruin Christmas for them!!
All in all thanks giving was awesome.

Some things I am thankful for this time of year is a lot...
1. My Husband, He is so sweet and helpful. He puts up with me and all my mood swings.
2. My Grandparents, ALL of them. This year was awesome to share thanksgiving and THREE weeks with G-ma Maples. What a wonderful woman she is. She is so strong and sweet. She is an example to me. I hope that I have her energy and spunk when I am a grandma. I am also thankful for my grandparents because with out them I would not have my AMAZING parents.
3. My parents, Mom and Dad thank you for teaching me to love many things. Life, the gospel, my family and all the things I have. My parents are such hard workers and providers for our family. They are always trying so hard to do so many things.
4. My sisters and brother. Jessica thank you for being you. I am so proud of you going to school and doing well in your classes. Stay strong in the church and stay close to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They will never leave you or lead you astray. Emilee, Keep up the good work. You are such an example to people you come in contact with. Doing Basketball, attending seminary and all your church meetings, keeping up the good grades. Again, stay close to the Lord. I am so proud of you too. Blake, well Blake what do we say, You are just to smart for your own good. Keep doing well in school and just make it through these tough years of middle school and your first year of high school and things should get better. You have such a sweet spirit. Just remember who you are and that you are special. Stay close to the church and the Lord. Look up to Dad and Geoff and follow their examples of being good priesthood holders. I love you Blake! And I love Jessica and Emilee.
5. All of our Friends! Tiff and Vic, thank you for always being there for us. Your family is such a good example. Having FHE and inviting us, having us over all the time and letting us be apart of your awesome family! Thank you so much for letting us be apart of the kids lives! We love you guys! Mary Ellen and Kyle, thank you for being our cruise buddy's this year. I cant believe it has been a year since we did our Christmas together last year. I am so excited for this year and for many more cruises together. We love coming to Charleston to visit and hang out.
6. Our extended family. Thank you for you love and examples you are from a distance. Our families don't get to see each other much but thanks to blogs we are able to keep up better. Keep the faith and We love you!
7. Last but not least Our Georgia Bulldogs! It has been a crazy season but we are thankful that we are able to attend some games.

Thanks this year means a lot because of the trials we have been through. It is the little things that are pulling on my heart strings this year and I just want to be able to remember the things near and dear to my heart!

Happy Holidays and I will try to post more often.

Grandma's Here

I am so excited that G-ma Maples is here with us for a couple of weeks! She is such an amazing woman. I love spending time with her and learning from her when she is here. Today we did some errands together with Jessica. I was able to give her a haircut and it looks so cute. She is such a hip g-ma. After running around we went back to mom's and did a little house work together. I for see a lot of house work in my future three weeks or so. BUT I am so glad she is here to help mom. What a blessing it is that she is still so spunky!
Thanks G-ma for giving me my mom. I am so thankful to have such an awesome mom and G-ma! I will post pics when we take some. And don't worry I will take lots! Love you G-ma!

Geoff's Birthday

So it is a little late but wanted to make note of us celebrating Geoff's Birthday on the 5Th. We had dinner at Friday's and the food was really good. Geoff got a griddle from his parents, a shirt and tie from my family and cards from grandparents and Aunts and Uncles! Thank you for your love towards Geoff and the cards. I think he had a pretty good birthday.
Side note I was so sick....sorry honey for messing up your day! I love you though and I am so thankful that I have you in my life!

SICK!

So this week has been strange. Wednesday I woke up with a migraine and then Thursday I started sounding congested. Now I am just SICK! I hate the feeling of note being able to breath, snot in your nose, and chest just hurts along with your ears and throat! I wish I knew why I got sick like this almost every year. I am taking my vitamins but BOO them not helping! Oh well Until later everyone knows how I feel now.
BTW Geoff is taking good care of me so no worries! Another thing.. I am ready to put up my Christmas stuff! Anyone else feel this way? If not that is OK because I am ready for a quiet Holiday season.
Just remembering the real reason for the season is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May we all be thankful for everything we have this year.

Too Many Errors

So today our Georgia Bulldogs did not get us a "W" to bring home to Athens! It was a really sad day in the Barton household. Hopefully we will not have another game like that this season! We still love our Dawgs and will continue to cheer them on.
So our to words that say it all on a Saturday afternoon in Athens, our two favorite words...... GO DAWGS!!!

Geoff and Dad

So not last weekend but the last when Georgia played Vandy we went to Lake Oconee for the weekend. We started this three years ago, I think, with Geoff's dad, Aunt Gayle, Uncle Kip, Aunt Toni, Uncle Rowdy, Cousin Brian and Maria. This year we got Geoff's mom to go. I am so glad she did because she needed to get away and spend time with Aunt Gayle. They are really close and I just love to see her so happy when she is with her! ANYWAY... So we left early Friday morning and got to the lake around three. It was raining and Rowdy was home alone....Toni was still working. So we visited for a few minutes then Geoff and I went on an adventure to the grocery store. It was a little ways away because they live so far from the little city but it was fun got the stuff we needed and made it back safe and sound. So we were the first to arrive then everyone started trickling in. By ten that night I think everyone was there....I feel asleep early.

So we got up really early Saturday morning to go to the tailgate spot and get set up. We left at 5:30am so we could be there by 7. Well we got there at 7:03am and got our spot we like and set up. It was really cold and Geoff forgot his sweat shirt so he had to use his dad's because it was so cold. We got all set up and started tailgating. We only had breakfast because it was an early game. French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs were enjoyed by all. Dad Joe does the cooking so it is great but he also has a wonderful assistant...ME!

The game was ok. We won and that is all that really matters to me is a VICTORY!!! I love to win and I tell Geoff before every game that if we loose I will cry so please don't ask why I am crying. IT has only happened once this year thank goodness.

So all in all in was a good weekend with good food, good game and good times with the family at the LAKE.

I am so glad we get to do that each year or until they sale their home!

Georgia Football Weekend!

This past weekend I was able to attend yet another UGA game in Athens! I was also able to go with my sisters and Geoff's Dad Joe. We left Friday morning and stopped on our way in at the University Bookstore, Wal-mart to find a tent...didn't happen, then Home Depot...Found a tent there! YEAH!! Then we made it to Uncle Ralph's. When we got there we were hungry and so was Uncle Ralph so we got in his Dodge CHARGER and went to a place called Diggers! It is a sporty restaurant that has pretty good food. We enjoyed some Delicious food and then headed back. We were able to get to bed pretty early after returning from another adventure to a Place called Summits where we meet Geoff's cousin, of a distance, for some beverages. The girls got ice cream and we just chatted. Once we made it back I hit the hay. We had to get up early so we could claim our tail gating spot for the day. We made it and got our new tent and rest of our tailgating stuff set up for the day. We enjoyed each others company and some good food. Thanks Joe for the great food. Yummy pancakes, french toast, bacon and eggs. Later we had bratwurst and hamburgers.

The game was OK but we didn't play as well as we should have! Needless to say we did get a VICTORY!!! Thank goodness because I was going to cry if we lost. Oh well here are some pics from our Adventure!

Weekend with the Girls

So a few weeks ago Geoff and I took the Girls to Georgia for a weekend of fun. We went and met up with Amanda and Paul at their apartment in Atlanta and then all went to the Braves game on Friday night. I was so glad we were able to spend time with them and they could all enjoy the game. We had great seats and even better company. We took the Marta down town so we would not have to drive in the Atlanta traffic. Plus the girls had not been on the Marta system before so I thought that would be fun for us to do. After the game we went back to Uncle Ralphs and got a little bit of sleep.

Saturday Morning we got the girls up and made our way to the University of Georgia to watch our Georgia Bulldogs Tee it up between the Hedges to play Central Michigan. It was really fun to tailgate with them. We had cereal for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. I am so thankful for the opportunity we had to take them.

We took Uncle Ralph to breakfast Sunday morning before heading out. We made it home in record time. 5 hours Flat...I think.

All in all it was a really good weekend!
