So Excited...it SNOWED

Okay so Wednesday morning I got a text from my friend Kim and she said, "its snowing" I was kinda out of it because it was around 7:30am. I read it then said..."Geoff it's snowing!!" I jumped up and looked out the window and what did i see...SNOW! It was awesome. I was so excited I was calling everyone. I was even able to get a shower and to my wonderful surprise when I got out it was snowing even more! I put on my warm clothes and went outside. I made a snowball and smeared it on the window so Geoff could see that it was enough snow to play in for a minute! He was not as excited as I was but I was able to get some good pics! I told Geoff that I was so excited that I thought I could turn into Buddy the Elf, from the Movie Elf! You know when He gets so excited in the movie when He finds out Santa is coming to the mall, well I was even more excited that I was exhausted by 3pm. Well enough talk here are the pics!

First FHE of 2009!

I am so proud of Geoff and I! We actually did a family Home Evening TOGETHER!! We needed to make a poster for nursery at church about our Eternal Family because the theme this year is "My Eternal Family" so we made our poster to go along with the posters our parents bring in for the kids in our class! I will take pics of the room so you can see it. Tomorrow we will do the bulletin board in the room itself! I am so excited, now we just have to get our lesson done for Sunday and we will be all set for the week!
A long with doing family Home Evening I wanted to brag a bit because I am a list maker and I never do so well with my list but today I was determined to cross off most of the things I needed to do today and guess what "I DID IT!!!" I was so excited too because Geoff helped me! He emptied the trash cans and asked me to remind him to put the trash out Thursday for the trash pick up Friday! Thanks honey for helping and Props to myself for completing a list! Thank goodness for list I don't even want to imagine the list I will have when we have a baby! But all I know is that I will be so grateful when it happens! Well props to all those list makers out there who get to cross stuff off their list daily! YOU GO!!!!

Weekend in NC

So a couple weekend ago we went to visit family in NC! It was a really good trip. Geoff and I left Friday night after Geoff got off work and stayed at Aunt Shari and Uncle Craig's House! We arrived at about 10:30pm and then everyone went to bed. G-ma and G-pa Aldridge were there so we could go to breakfast Saturday Morning together which we did and it was really good. After breakfast we went back to Shari's so G-ma and G-pa could go to their house because the rest of my family was on their way to the country! So we hung out with Shari, Chad, Jennifer, and Laura Rachel till Craig got off work. We, Geoff, Shari, chad and myself went to an outdoor shooting range where Chad showed us how to shoot different kinds of guns. PS I forgot my camera so no pics of that. IT was really fun to be out there, it was freezing though!
After shooting we met some of the fam it a Mexican restaurant. My was NOT good at all!
D-scusting!!! Anyway we got to the country be like 6pm Saturday evening. We spent the rest of the weekend there.
Sunday dad took Emilee, Jessica Jordan and myself out to some land of our family and we shot one of dad's guns for the fun of it! There was a a lot of target practice that weekend. Geoff didn't go because he was playing with fire back at Leslie's house with some of the kids! All in all it was a really fun weekend!

SNOW DAY!!!

Okay, so tomorrow will be a week since it snow flurried at the beach of Myrtle! We had just gotten home on Monday from a great weekend in NC with our fam! I got home and saw that the local weather man was predicting snow for Tuesday! I didn't believe it because that is just my luck, when I want something to happen I get really excited and then it doesn't happen...SO I kept telling myself, "Mindee it is NOT going to snow!" Well surprise surprise the weather man was right...IT DID Snow....and I was so happy! I called one of my friends and was screaming on the phone to her about how excited I was about the snow! Before I did that one of the girls from the salon called me and said,"it is snowing at my house!" I was so sad because It had not started at our house YET! Ha A little bit later it snowed and then it flurried the rest of the day... I did end up going to work after I called just about everyone in my phone book! I was just to excited to keep it all to myself! You know me I took some pics of the glorious WHITE snow! Amazing it is I know! Enjoy!!! BURRRR

COOKIES!!

So I guess mom and I thought the cookie monster was coming to town because about three weeks ago we made three different kinds of cookies. The truth of it is, we didn't make them at Christmas so we made them for the new year I guess. I cant explain to you how much fun I had with my mom making cookies. I don't know what it is but I am becoming more domesticated all the time if I do say so myself! Ha Ha, anyway here are some pics of our cookies! They were delicious! If you scratch the screen you might be able to smell them! But if you want to taste our cookies you have to come visit us! Love y'all!

A Tag From My Cousin Carmen!

So I was reading my cousins blog and she tagged me in one of her posts! I was so excited to see my name! So I will enjoy doing this one!!!!
How I met Geoff

1. Where did you meet?

Geoff and I were in the same Chemistry Class in high school! I could not think of any other way to meet him! It was tradition in this class to throw paper balls at the person having a birthday...so it was my day and everyone got to throw PAPER balls at me....well after we had gotten back to the task at hand someone was still throwing paper balls at me, Geoff! I was getting a little annoyed so I turned around and said, "You don't even know me why are you still throwing paper balls at me?" The rest is history!
2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met?

Before the paper balls incident I had my eyes on him, he was just so cute!
3. Do you remember what he was wearing?

I don't remember exactly but he did have either cargo shorts on or carpenter style jeans on for sure. That is really all he wore and still does!
4. When was the first time you kissed this person?

We went ice skating and I made the move!
5. Where did you go for your first date?

We went to Goody's to return a pair of shoes and we were supposed to go see my friend play volleyball but he got called into work!
6.How long did you know this person before you became a couple?

Well I guess not long we started talking Oct. 8, and I asked him out, wait did I really just admit that, or told him I was his girlfriend Nov, 11 1999!
7. How did he ask you out?

I think I already admitted I asked him!
8. Has this person ever proposed to you?

YES! It was amazing. We went to dinner on Valentines day 2003 and he picked me up at my parents. We ate at Drunkin Jacks and we had already exchanged gifts in the truck and after we were done eating we were getting dessert and he asked me if I had gotten everything I wanted. I said yes... I wanted the Jessica Simpson CD and a big stuffed animal because I had never gotten one before. What I didn't notice was that he was having trouble get the ring out of his pocket so the host of the restaurant knew what was going on and he saw Geoff struggling so he came over and talked to me about a flower on my plate that was edible and while he was doing that Geoff got the ring out of his pocket. The next thing I know Geoff is down on one knee asking me to marry him! I was so surprised and crying.. I had my HS ring on the finger so I had to take it off and move it to my other hand...I have no idea where my HS ring is still. So of course I said, "yea, yea, yea...YES!!!!!" Everyone in the background was saying, "Did she say yes?" He is so amazing! Side note...when Geoff went to get his salad from the bar he almost fell coming down the stairs because he was trying to hide the ring box in his pocket!
9. Do you and this person have kids together?

Not yet, we tried and it was the wrong time but when The Lord blesses us with one we will both be so happy!
10. Have you ever broken the law with this person?

I don't think so... I am not a big rule breaker! Sorry!
11. When was the first time you realized you liked this person?

When I had to tell him that if he could not take me to the temple We couldn't stay together. Then it really hit me when I heard him say his first prayer at one of his meetings with the missionaries!
12. Do you get along with his family?

Yes, I just love his parents!
13. Do you trust this person?

With everything!
14. Do you see him as your partner in the future?

For time and all eternity!
15.What is one thing he does that gets on your nerves?

Since he is not going to read this till I tell him I did a post about him.... It used to be that he played to much PlayStation, now his major downfall is he doesn't make many decisions. But I guess that is good for me because I get to make them!
16.Where do you see each other 15 years from now?

With a family and being happy together!
17. What causes the most arguments?

Him not making a decision!
18. How long have you been together?

We have known each other for almost 10 years...11-11-10. Married 07-05 almost 4 years!
19. Are you married?

Almost 4 years!
20. Who do you tag?

I tag Mary Ellen, Tiffany and Ann Page!

The Start of a New Year and Work Week

I, MinDee, have been keeping the blog up as much as possible with no help from Mr. Geoff. I guess he is just not the blogging type. He would rather sit in front of the TV and watch Scrubs and The Office instead of blogging with me. Oh well I guess this way I can post stuff about him and he probably wouldn't even know it! HA Anyway I wanted to remember the beginning of the year because we have had some things happen. Much to our dismay we experienced something I never wanted to....We had to call the police because Geoff saw a house being broken into! Scary Scary Scary, Not the way I wanted to start our year off! Much to our surprise the cops got there fast and got things under control. We don't know any of the details but I am glad that Geoff is so aware of our surroundings. Thank goodness no one was in the house so no one got hurt or scared. So now that that is out of the way, "We" got our Christmas decor down and put away. Our home is back to almost normal now. I have got to hang somethings on the wall and then I think I will be happy with the look of emptiness till next Christmas when we can get out everything again to make it sparkle with pretty Christmas lights.
Now to the work week. Geoff was not excited when I mentioned to him that we had to work a full week this week with no early days or a whole day off in the middle of the week. I know that I was a little overwhelmed with having to get back in the routine of things but much to my surprise it wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. I think we made it through the day with not to much drama.
After we both got home we put on our "workout" clothes and walked around the block to get our activity in for the day. I know that when I do "workout" it makes me feel a little better. Now if I could kick the habit of Brownies and Ice Cream around 8pm in the evening I think I will make the "workout" worth it!
Well I hope that we can be glad to get back to a normal schedule for a bit and get our files ready 2009. Now if I can just get our stuff ready for taxes...hopefully we will get some back!
Just a few things I have been grateful for....
1. My Family
2. My Husband for being so aware of our surroundings
3. My Testimony of the Truth of Jesus Christ and the Gospel
4. My Friends who are always there for us
5. My Mom for always being able to sew clothes for me!
Happy New Year everyone! Remember to count your blessings and if it helps... Name them One by One!

The Start of a New Year

So for New Years Eve 2008 we were able to spend it with our really good friends Tiff and Vic and their amazing family. We had a really good dinner that included Fried Turkey by Victor, Sweet patatoe casserole, greenbean casserole, rolls, pinapple cheese casserole, mac and cheese. Dinner was really good and we were so full that we didnt eat a lot of snacks while we played wii games. We were able to watch the ball drop and call and text our family and friends.
We left Tiff and Vic's about one because I was really tired and they needed to rest while little Liam was asleep.
New Years Day has been amazing! I woke up at 7:55am and got up to watch GMA, my favorite News Show. Geoff graced me with his amazing present around 9am I think. We flipped channels for a bit and then I took a cat nap and then wanted to watch the Rose Parade before our Georgia Bulldogs played our last game till next season. Good News... We won! That made New Years day really good to. Also for the game Mom, Emilee and Jessica came over and watched it. Jess had to leave early.. :( it made me sad that she had to leave. The rest of us finished the game and then watched most of the USC Penn State game. We went to go to Zaxby's but they were closed so we got Sonic for dinner. It was good. I am so glad that Mom and Emilee spent the day with us. I have not been feeling well the past two days thanks to a little visit from Mother Nature but things can only get better.
Some things I want to accomplish in 2009 are not totally in stone yet. I have a lot on my mind but I do know that I want to thank my wonderful Husband for all he does for me! And My Family...what a blessing they have been to me this past year with our hardest trial of our life so far, our miscarriage in September. Thanks family for your love and support. I am so thankful that we love and support each other in all we do. May we remember the good times of 2008 and make 2009 even better.
We love you and pray for all of our family and friends that this year will be better for all.

Christmas Day

Wanting to start a new tradition for us we decided to make and serve breakfast at our home! We were so blessed to have our parents and my siblings over at 10am. I was so nervous about getting Geoff's 3 presents wrapped before everything got started I woke up at 7:15am. I told everyone that for Christmas I just wanted to sleep in...yeah right. On the bright side I got everything done that I wanted to and was even to kick my feet up a little bit.
Everyone got there about 10:15 and Geoff was already cooking. We had sausage, bacon, fruit, biscuits, cinnamon rolls and best of all French toast! It was delicious! Geoff is such a wonderful cook. I was not smart enough to remember to take pictures but luck-a-lee Geoff's mom , em, took some so I will have to get them from her and post them.
After we all enjoyed breakfast we did a little gift giving to represent the Three wise men bringing presents to baby Jesus. Everyone loved their little gift and it made me feel so good to be able to give a little something this year. I was thinking we were not going to be able to do anything but set a side a little money for a few little gifts. I didn't tell anyone we were doing it because I didn't want anyone to think they had to give us something! The best gift this year was just being together.
Christmas eve was really awesome too. We went to Christmas eve service with Geoff's parents and sang lots of pretty songs. We then headed to my mom's for dinner. We ate and then rested. Dad gave us a little insight on what Christmas meant to him. It was awesome He told us that Christmas to him was not about the presents because he had the best presents all the time. His amazing wife and his four wonderful children and his son-in-law that was picked by me to be in our family. I am so thankful that Dad was able to share with us the true meaning of Christmas through his eyes. I am so thankful for our family and for everything we have.
This year really wasn't about the presents. I hope that in the years to come we remember we don't have to spend a lot of money to show our love. I think that this has been the best Christmas in a long time. The only thing missing was White Snow. If we could just have a white Christmas at the beach every couple of years that would be AWESOME!
Well all in all we had a really nice Christmas! Hope we can all remember the reason for the season. May we all be blessed in the new year with they things we NEED! We love all of those that touch our lives for the good. May you know that we are blessed to have such great family and friends in our life!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us to you!

Christmas with Style

I wanted to remember out Christmas Decorations for our Journal.

Our Georgia Stockings Not hung by a chimney...we don't have one. They will hang from our entertainment center with care.

Our Georgia snowmen wreath that hangs on the door of the Georgia Room!

My penguins that sit on our table.

The true meaning of Christmas is in the center of our Home.

This says enough!
