Too Many Errors

So today our Georgia Bulldogs did not get us a "W" to bring home to Athens! It was a really sad day in the Barton household. Hopefully we will not have another game like that this season! We still love our Dawgs and will continue to cheer them on.
So our to words that say it all on a Saturday afternoon in Athens, our two favorite words...... GO DAWGS!!!

Geoff and Dad

So not last weekend but the last when Georgia played Vandy we went to Lake Oconee for the weekend. We started this three years ago, I think, with Geoff's dad, Aunt Gayle, Uncle Kip, Aunt Toni, Uncle Rowdy, Cousin Brian and Maria. This year we got Geoff's mom to go. I am so glad she did because she needed to get away and spend time with Aunt Gayle. They are really close and I just love to see her so happy when she is with her! ANYWAY... So we left early Friday morning and got to the lake around three. It was raining and Rowdy was home alone....Toni was still working. So we visited for a few minutes then Geoff and I went on an adventure to the grocery store. It was a little ways away because they live so far from the little city but it was fun got the stuff we needed and made it back safe and sound. So we were the first to arrive then everyone started trickling in. By ten that night I think everyone was there....I feel asleep early.

So we got up really early Saturday morning to go to the tailgate spot and get set up. We left at 5:30am so we could be there by 7. Well we got there at 7:03am and got our spot we like and set up. It was really cold and Geoff forgot his sweat shirt so he had to use his dad's because it was so cold. We got all set up and started tailgating. We only had breakfast because it was an early game. French toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs were enjoyed by all. Dad Joe does the cooking so it is great but he also has a wonderful assistant...ME!

The game was ok. We won and that is all that really matters to me is a VICTORY!!! I love to win and I tell Geoff before every game that if we loose I will cry so please don't ask why I am crying. IT has only happened once this year thank goodness.

So all in all in was a good weekend with good food, good game and good times with the family at the LAKE.

Me on the way to the lake

I am so glad we get to do that each year or until they sale their home!

Georgia Football Weekend!

This past weekend I was able to attend yet another UGA game in Athens! I was also able to go with my sisters and Geoff's Dad Joe. We left Friday morning and stopped on our way in at the University Bookstore, Wal-mart to find a tent...didn't happen, then Home Depot...Found a tent there! YEAH!! Then we made it to Uncle Ralph's. When we got there we were hungry and so was Uncle Ralph so we got in his Dodge CHARGER and went to a place called Diggers! It is a sporty restaurant that has pretty good food. We enjoyed some Delicious food and then headed back. We were able to get to bed pretty early after returning from another adventure to a Place called Summits where we meet Geoff's cousin, of a distance, for some beverages. The girls got ice cream and we just chatted. Once we made it back I hit the hay. We had to get up early so we could claim our tail gating spot for the day. We made it and got our new tent and rest of our tailgating stuff set up for the day. We enjoyed each others company and some good food. Thanks Joe for the great food. Yummy pancakes, french toast, bacon and eggs. Later we had bratwurst and hamburgers.

The game was OK but we didn't play as well as we should have! Needless to say we did get a VICTORY!!! Thank goodness because I was going to cry if we lost. Oh well here are some pics from our Adventure!

Weekend with the Girls

So a few weeks ago Geoff and I took the Girls to Georgia for a weekend of fun. We went and met up with Amanda and Paul at their apartment in Atlanta and then all went to the Braves game on Friday night. I was so glad we were able to spend time with them and they could all enjoy the game. We had great seats and even better company. We took the Marta down town so we would not have to drive in the Atlanta traffic. Plus the girls had not been on the Marta system before so I thought that would be fun for us to do. After the game we went back to Uncle Ralphs and got a little bit of sleep.

Saturday Morning we got the girls up and made our way to the University of Georgia to watch our Georgia Bulldogs Tee it up between the Hedges to play Central Michigan. It was really fun to tailgate with them. We had cereal for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. I am so thankful for the opportunity we had to take them.

We took Uncle Ralph to breakfast Sunday morning before heading out. We made it home in record time. 5 hours Flat...I think.

All in all it was a really good weekend!

My 26th Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!

So I wanted to share my day of birth celebration. I know I am late doing it but it has been busy. Last week was a pretty good week! And then Wednesday October 8Th came and went way to fast BUT it was a very good day! I got up in a good mood because I knew what I was going to wear and my hair did "OK" not great but it was "OK". So I was putting my make up on at the computer like always at about 8:30am. I had to be ready by 9 so I could cut Joe's hair (father in-law) at 9:30am at the salon. So I was putting my make up and I got a phone call. It was Melissa, Elizabeth's mom, she said Elizabeth wanted her to call and tell me she "HAD" a present for me! And by "HAD" she was telling that Liz delivered Dylan Ryan at 7 something that morning! AMAZING! I share a birthday with one of my really good friends son! I love it! I was so excited I think I screamed into the phone and hurt Melissa's ear, Sorry. Needless to say that started my day off GREAT!

I made it to the salon to cut Joe's hair and he then he proceeded to tell the girls and guy at the salon that it was my birthday. I didn't want them to know because they would have wanted to do lunch and I had already planned on leaving early. So he told them and then I got scolded by Corinthian and then everyone else told me HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thanks guys! So we did lunch Thursday instead cause I was there ALL DAY!! Chic-fil-a for lunch and it was really good.

After I worked at the salon I went and tried to work on statements for the resort. Needless to say the fold and stuff machine was not working and the guy came to work on it. So I didn't work long there. I was super glad because I went and got my bff tiff and we went to see Liz and Dylan. I was so excited and he is so cute. Her family was there..everyone except her sister Andrea but she was at school in Columbia so at least she was in class. I am so glad I got to go see her and have my picture taken with the baby. I was so glad to celebrate my day of birth with Dylan Ryan being born.

After that I took Tiff home and she and victor got me a present that was so awesome I had to show everyone this weekend at the game.. I new GEORGIA purse that totally kicks butt! It is perfect just like them! I love it so much and I am so thankful for them! Thank you Thank you Thank you for my purse I LOVE IT!!!

Dinner was really good too! We ate at mom's, having BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Baked Potato Salad and rolls. IT WAS YUM-O! Then Blake made me brownies so we had brownies and ice cream with mom's Delicious hot fudge Sunday sauce on it!!! YUM-OOOO!!!!

I am so thankful for everyone who has touched my life so far. For the family and friends that I have and love so much. I am so blessed to have everything that I have and I am so thankful for it. Thank you to everyone who has ever done anything for me! I love you!

Oh yeah Geoff got me this amazing Jersey. It is Knowshon's jersey that I wanted for awhile. He did play a mean trick on me when I opened it. He somehow got into the package and switched out my jersey and put one of his shirts in there! So when I opened I acted like I love it and Geoff knew I was upset so he told me the truth and gave me my Jersey! Thanks honey for my Birthday present! I love it!

FHE with Vic and Tiff's Fam!

So last night we went to Victor and Tiff's house for FHE with them and their girls! I just love them...we had hamburgers and tator tots with some fruit salad and then cookies and brownies for Dessert! YUM-O!! Then Tiff gave a lesson on the Family. I just love their sweet spirit and the example they are to us! The girls are so cute and they just love on us all the time! Ginnie saw us and said, I have missed you! It was so cute to hear her say that! She wanted us to hold her and for Geoff to toss her in the air above his head! What a cute thing she is. Soon we will be welcoming baby Liam. I just wanted to say thanks for a great FHE!!

Grandpa Maples!

In Loving memory of my Grandpa Maples I wanted to take some time and reflect. A year ago today My mom was in Utah with her mom at a very sad time her life and ours. It was in the evening when Mom called and told us that Grandpa has taken his last breath in this life here on earth. We were so sad but thankful for the gospel to know that even though he had passed away in this life that he was on a journey to his next life where he would be able to know us and know who he was. He would have his memory and be able to see how we had grown and that he is now watching over us as his family! I am not a funeral person because I don't like sadness or thing that makes me cry.
So today I wanted to reflect on the legacy that Ernest W. Maples left here on earth for his family and friends. I don't have to many stories but I remember the times I shared with him. As everyone knows when grandma and grandpa would come visit us at the beach we would do lots of fun things. When I was little I remember getting picked up from school by them and then we would stop and get a "Big Gulp" at the gas station. We didn't have seven elevens here but Gramps just wanted a Pepsi. That was his favorite soda! He would also take me bowling, bike riding, walks on the beach. He would also jump on the tramp with me and my sisters and brother. What an amazing grandpa he was.
I also know that he was an amazing Dad, husband, friend, co-worker, neighbor and gentleman. He was very strong in the church and always went above and beyond the call of duty. I loved to watch him eat his Corn Flakes with banana's and sugar. I never understood how he ate that I just thought that was so gross! He would always give the best prayers before meals and when our family would be traveling from Utah back to SC. I am just so thankful that I was able to have him for MY Grandpa!
I put this together when we were flying to Utah for the funeral but never told anyone. But I going to share it now....
