Today with Dad.

So I got to spend some time with my dad again today! I am so thankful that I am able to help him. I had to work this morning for a little while but was done by 11am so I could be with my dad! I got to the house and he had taken a shower and taken off the ace bandage and you could see his band aids. His knee is a little swollen but he is getting around with one crutch! Good Job Dad! He was hungry when I got there so guess what...I made him a ham and tomato sandwich! Can you believe I cut up a tomato and touched the gross green stuff! But I did it for my dad! Don't know how good it was being we didn't have any cheese but when I was done cleaning up the kitchen he was done with it so I guess it was eatable! So after he ate he needed to go ride to some job sites and out to look at some other lots in Conway. It was fun to spend time with him and to drive him around. I hate that it took Knee surgery to get us to spend together but otherwise he is always busy with work or going to Conway with his cows. Sometimes I wish I could trade places with Blake and spend more time with Dad but It just makes the time we do spend together even BETTER! I love being with my Dad and hearing him talk and laugh. Like I said in my other blog he is just an amazing person to me. So we did our running around and got home safe and sound.
I feel like I have been talking a lot about my dad so I wanted to say Thank you to my mom too. She is always there for us when we need her and even when we don't think we do. She just has this way of knowing when she is needed! Mom recently had to go get her liver checked and I was so worried. I work with a girl that always told me she would not know what to do if her mom was not around. Not long after that her mother passed away from a major heart attack! Well now I tell her I don't know what I would do if my mom was not around! I was really worried because you need your liver but thankfully everything is OK! She is still staying around, and for along time because if i have anything to do with it my whole family will be around for A LONG LONG LONG LONG time! I am so thankful for my whole family. I really don't know what I would do if I did not have them! Like Brytt says on her Blog... I have a family here on earth, They are so GOOD to me! I love my dad, mom, sisters, brother and husband so very much!
Thank you mom for everything you do for me! You are truly my best friend!

My Dad and My 3yr Anniversary

So I got home about an hour ago from sitting with my dad. Yesterday he had knee surgery on his meniscus or however you spell it. Mom took him yesterday and brought him home and kept him comfy. He is taking some strong pain pills to keep him comfy. What an amazing man he is. Today I got there about 9:15 and he was sleeping...I tried to be quiet so I didn't wake him but I had to go outside twice to bring my stuff in so when I came in the 2ND time he said, "What are you doing?" in his funny voice. So I went in and checked on him. He didn't sleep well Monday night so this morning he was trying to catch up. He slept for a little while and then all of the sudden he just woke up and said I have to go to the bathroom. So he made it there then he started working...checking his voicemail and returning calls and putting fires under some of his people so they would get the work done. There is no way that if it were me I would even give a crap about work...that is just me though. He worked for a good two hours if not three. I then made him a pizza and made sure he took his pills and did what he supposed to do. He moaned a little bit about not having anything on TV to watch so he took another nap...good for him! So after he woke up he made more work calls and then we watched a movie together! Me, Dad and Blake enjoyed a nice flick called "Shooter" with Mark Walberg in it! I just love that movie for some reason! So after the movie was over mom got home shortly and then I had to leave....
Today is our 3yr anniversary! Three years ago I married the man of my dreams! What a blessing he is to me! He is always supportive and loving! Thank you honey for letting me be me and not getting upset! I am a little moody at times and he still loves me! I am so thankful for "God blessing the broken roads" to get us together. We danced to God Bless the broken road for our reception! Anyway thank you Geoff for being so amazing..... amazing b/c while I am doing this he is getting dinner ready for us! My fav steak and baked potatoes!!! YUM
One last thing... I just want my dad to know how thankful I am for him. He is such a good example to me. I am so thankful that our relationship is so close. He is always there for me. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Dad! I love you Dad!!!!
I Love you too Geoff for being my Husband!!

Weekend with Family

Greatgrandpa Curry
Four Generations
The Gang
Geoff the Chef! I love you Honey!

So this past weekend we went to NC to celebrate our Great grandfathers 99Th Birthday! What a fun time. We got to see family from Utah, (Elizabeth and Remy) family from other areas of North Carolina, (Barry and Ann's family minus Tyler who is serving a mission and Laura who was playing at the beach with some friends.) (Steve and Lisa's Family minus Dallon who is also serving a mission.) Carla and Lynn's family, Leslie...her boys were with their dad in Cali. Chad, Jennifer and darling little girl Laura, Christi and her girls, Melva and her family, and Trey and Tanya and their family. Shari and Craig, Myra an Lindsey, Wilbur and Lois (Gma and Gpa Aldridge), and if I forgot anyone....sorry! So we had a good time with all. It was really neat to be able to celebrate such a special day.

What a wonderful life it is, although we have our ups and downs it is still such a blessing to be tried and tested so that we may return to live with our father in heaven again. May we all try to be a little nicer, a little kinder, a little more loving in our everyday lives! May we also all remember who we are. How wonderful it is to see our family all together and to know that if we are worthy and do what is right that we may be together for the eternities. It is so good to have these family get togethers so we may some how see a little glimpse of our eternal families.

I am so thankful for my family here on earth. I am also so thankful for Geoff, for him traveling with me to see my, our, family in NC. Thank you Geoff for always supporting me. I love you and I am so thankful for you in my life!

WHAT a DAY!

So today was a weird day! Not a good one by any means. So for all of you out there who have lost jobs before...I feel your pain. Today I was "Laid off" due to a really bad economy. I know I have my job doing hair which I love but I also "loved" my office job. My friends there are amazing and my boss was the most amazing of it all. I guess all I can do is put it in the Lords hands. I know there are people worse off than me but to loose something you love just really sucks. I just wanted to thank my Heavenly Father for giving the time I did have there. At times it was hard to adjust to changes that happen but all in all I just loved my co-workers and the job I did. Thank you to all of my co-workers now "friends" for always supporting me. I hope that even though I wont get to see you on a daily occurrence that you will always remember the good laughs and times we all had together. To bad I don't have a picture of the crew but I know who they are and how much they will always mean to me!

Thank you again for all the wonderful memories.

On the other hand I have a great husband who supports me no matter what I call and tell him. I am sure every time I call he wonders if I will be OK when he picks up the phone. What a great man he is to always tell me..."don't worry, everything will be OK, it will all work out" I know that deep in my heart but to have him is even better! Thank you Geoff for your love and support. Also to my mom who always supports Geoff in telling me the same things. I know she has her own worries but she never fails me. She is always there in my time of need or comfort. Thanks mom for that. I Know when dad finds out that he will say the same thing....Mindee everything will be OK. Just keep doing what your doing and it will all work out. OR he might even say well lets just all move to the country and have a farm. Lets just be together he tells me! I love my Dad and all his great stories! Thanks to my dad for the encouragement he has always given me!

I know I am very blessed and the Lord has his hand in my life. It is just when you are in need he will always show it too you some how. I know things will be OK. Just a big adjustment for me. I just love working my two little jobs, so I just have to adjust to the change and enjoy my one big job...doing hair and making people happy!

God bless us all who are struggling right now! May we all remember that we are A Child of God and to always remember him. Help us to be more loving, patient, kind, understanding, and willing to go with His plan. I know I have said a lot and rambled on but just know That I love my Heavenly Father and I am so thankful for everything he does for me!

On a happier note...we are going to NC this weekend! I cant wait to see my family!

July 4th 2008

I am so thankful for family and time spent together. This weekend I got to spend some time with a cousin. She is an amazing person. She always makes me laugh by her funny little things she says. If she only knew how much I love her and Love having her and her husband around. I am so thankful that things happen for a reason and the Lord works in the way that he does. So I am talking about my cousin Chelsee, her husband Matt and his brother and sister Brad and Ashlee. They came down from NC to visit for the 4Th. We had an amazing time at the beach and wouldn't you know I left my dang camera at home! BOO me forgetting. So needless to say I have no pics of us at the beach. Maybe we would all be so lucky that Chels and Matt would publish some pics for us! They were so fun to watch boogie board and play in the waves. Chelsee and I enjoyed the sun while sitting at the edge of the beach letting the water hit our feet to keep us a little cool. I just want to say thank you to everyone I spent the fourth with. It was really fun. The beach, The Mario Cart, the dinner...hamburger and hot dogs, chicken, homemade ice cream it was fantastic. So thank you to everyone! I love you and am so glad we got that time together. Please know that I love you! (MinDee)
OK, so I got this email today from Geoff's dad and I really enjoyed it. There was a lot that was so true. It really made me think about things and life in general. So here it is....

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throw away morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the show room window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it.

A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

George Carlin
