Cruise (Day 1)

Hey Guys! Well Geoff has put these pictures on here from our 1st day of the cruise. It was amazing being on the ocean in a big ship!
The 1st day was a little overwhelming. We bored the ship pretty easily. We took a cooler on board and they made us pour out the ice before we could go through security. I was upset at first but then I just said to myself. We are on vaca. No need to be in a hurry. So we got through security and got checked on the boat by a really nice older gent who gave us some good info. Told us not to take on passports with us when we got to our different ports cause we would not need them. We just needed our 'Sail and Sign cards'! Easy enough. So we got on the ship and went and checked out our room. It was a lot better then I thought I would be. The room was not to small and shower was an OK size. Nothing like our bathroom at home but good enough.
So we had to go to a life jacket meeting thing. Our group was to meet in a room called the 'Astoria Lounge' we were mustard group A. So we meet there at three and after they ended the meeting thing I was totally confused. I did not learn or take anything away from that gathering.
After the meeting we met up with our BFF's Kyle and Ellen and got some lunch...maybe we got lunch before the meeting I don't really remember. But we ate with them at the buffet. It was good I got the cheeseburger and some fries. So we were all still confused and a little concerned that the whole cruise was going to be like that BUT to our wonderful surprise it was Great. Each day just got better and better!
After dinner the first night we decided to change our dinner time so we could all sit at the same table. To do this we had to change our dinner time from 5:45 to 8pm. Which was one of the best things we did. We got a fantastic server..GLEN!! and I Made of course. They made us feel right at home...at home as you could be while being waited on all week. They did a great job therefore they got a good tip the last night! Hats off to Glen and I Made! Thanks guys!
So the first day was great. More days will be coming soon! (as remembered by MinDee)
Well, let me tell you how it really happened. We were driving down the road and all of a sudden you could see the ship and everyone went crazy. It didn't take long to get on the ship so I was happy about that. Once we were on the ship, we put our stuff in the room and started to explore. We went and got something to eat and it was pretty good. Next, we watched as the ship left the port and set sail towards Key West. The best part about this was the storm that was trailing us. If any of you have seen the movie Independence Day, there is a part where the space ship is creeping up on a city through some clouds. Well, this storm looked just like it and it was awesome. Next , we all had to go to a meeting about life jackets and it was a total waste of time. It did however give us time to get a good seat for trivia. Our friend Kyle became a local celebrity that day. He was killing the competition and won a "24 carat gold plastic ship on a stick." I won't lie, I tried to win one but came up short ever time. After that it was time for Dinner. The first nights dinner was OK, but not as good as the rest of the nights. We were at a table with two people from Georgia which was cool. It was tough to hear but overall, we had fun. We didn't really do a whole lot the first night but try and figure out what was going on and how to get around the ship. When we got back to our room we did find that we had a friend in their waiting for us. It was a towel pet but the first night I had no clue what it was. So if anyone knows what that animal in the picture is, please let me know. Overall, the first day was good, but not the best day by far. (As remembered by Geoff)

So this past week at the salon was a little exciting! I took some pics to share with everyone. One is of a young boy with the coolest 'hair do' ever! The other pic is of a weeding party I did. Shannon's sister Steph got "hitched" this past Saturday so I got the job of doing the hair! It was a lot of fun and I am so thankful for being able to be apart of their special day. In the picture is Shelly, Stacy, Steph, Shannon and Me! Steph is the bride. It was really a lot of fun to spend the morning with them! Thanks again!

So This past week at church I got this amazing picture. I think I love it! It is missing some of the "men" in my life but my Husband and Brother and one of my favorite little boys is in it! Hope you all can enjoy it as much as I do!

Birthday Dinner With the Barton's

Hi everyone! So I guess everyone know I am on spring break this week b/c i have been blogging so much! No Seminary and it has been AMAZING!!

Anyway we had Geoff's parents over for dinner. Geoff and I fixed enchiladas and we made them a little different and they were so good. (so kyle and Ellen and Bryant we will fix them for you next time you come see us!) After we ate we showed Mom and Dad Barton how to play the Wii! I think they had a lot of fun with it. Geoff and his dad bowled together, them Emily and I got a turn. Joe beat Geoff in bowling and it was really funny! Then we showed them the tennis. Joe then wanted to show us his batting skills on the baseball game.

All in all it was a lot fun. Thanks mom and dad Barton for the fun birthday day dinner/Wii party!

We love you!

Family Home Evening!

So Geoff and I were reading in our FHE book for newlyweds..all though we feel like we are it has almost been THREE years! Crazy! Anyway one of the things was to build a fort together. I used to do this all the time with my BFF Jessica Davis. We would make the biggest mess with sheets and put so many holes in the wall to get the sheets to stay. Geoff said he used to build forts with the cushions from the couch with his BFF Mark!

So together we got some sheets out and Geoff pulled the cushions off the couch and we began to build our fort! It was really fun to do this and spend time together. After we got it done we decided to watch one of our new movies...August Rush! I love this move..not to big on Robin Williams in this movie but I love the story! So we built a fort and watched a movie for our FHE together!

Geoff Blogging

So I am so excited I finally got Geoff to blog. It was amazing to have him sit up here in the computer room with me and type on our blog. Geoff I am so proud of you! Hopefully he will begin to like it as much as I do!

Easter (Geoff's First Blog)

HAPPY EASTER...(Mindee is making me do this).

Well, so we got up before the sun, I don't really know why, and went down to the beach for a sunrise service. My mom always likes us to come and watch with her. I wish one year we could go and it wasn't 1000 degrees below zero. The rest of the morning was good. We got to go eat with my parents and some of my dads friends. We always eat at Nibbles and it allows us to leave the service early because it is always so freaking cold. It was cool to see the sun rise because I am not a morning person and that is not something I ever see.

Again Happy Easter to all from MinDee! Hi everyone. Like Geoff said we went to sunrise service this morning with Geoff's parents. I really enjoy it because we get to see the sun rise and hear the service from the Preacher. It is usually about the same sermon but it is always good to reflect on the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for the Gospel and for the blessings it brings into our marriage and our lives. At this time of year I like to reflect on the many blessing I have received. I am thankful for my family and for the love we have. I am also thankful for my extended family and the joy they bring into my life. Our extended family is going through some emotional trials right now. We lost our Grandpa Ernie in October and now my cousin Brytt is experiencing a trial with her new baby. He had to have open heart surgery because his heart did not develop right. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers at this Easter season.

Well again I am so thankful for many things...my husband who is amazing and very loving, my family and extended family. I am also very Thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Again Happy Easter and we love you!

Easter Eggs

Tonight was really fun.. well more fun if my Sister Jessica would have come over to my house with Emilee and Blake to dye Easter eggs! We had a lot of fun. It seems like in the past two years it has just been Me, Emilee and Blake that dye eggs. I guess there are just a bunch of PARTY POOPERS in our family. But we still love them and are very grateful for them. So just wanted everyone to see our fun!

Me having a bad moment!

So today I (MinDee) got home from a day of shopping with my mom and sister Emilee. I went in the house to see Geoff and what he was doing. I asked him if he could come help me get the stuff out of the car, he said sure. So we go out to the car and get the stuff and we are walking back to go into the house. So here is where I had a BAD moment. I had my salon bag, my purse, and two bags with a dress and then some shoes, there is a car that goes by and I go to wave and the next thing i know I am hitting the ground!!! I felt so STUPID, Geoff turns around and starts laughing at me and I don't know which to do... LAUGH or JUST CRY!! I wanted to do both and so I did! It is not a bad scrap I tried taking pics of the scrap and it really doesn't show up. I know the guy in the truck probably laughed till he peed his pants! So that is my bad moment for the day! Hope you got a good LAUGH out of it.
